Bryant Lake Bowl is a great alternative to the busier areas of Calhoun square. Good times are always found here, especially after a few dark beers and a game of bowling. The biggest draw for Bryant Lake Bowl is the HUGE selection of bottled beers. If you've heard of it, you can probably buy it here (also a bunch that you haven't heard of).
For bowling, there are 8 new antique -style bowling lanes, just get there early on the weekend if you want a lane... It's totally worth the effort because it offers many opportunities to mingle with and meet your fellow bowlers. Games and shoe rental are reasonably priced and vary by the specific day. All bowling is cheaper during the summer!
Bryant-Lake Bowl is also a great venue for local theater and film. They have a small theater in the back that offers different plays and local film releases at varying prices. At your seat, you have access to everything you could get in the restaurant area, including a waitress to bring it to you. Their food is american-posh and they have an excellent brunch (usually packed so be prepared to wait) on the weekends. The music is a mix of classic rock and hip new rock. The crowd is mixed, but usually on the hip side? Uptown side, cool older ex-hippies, or the theater crowd and resemble what you would expect of an uptown mix. Bryant-Lake Bowl is definitely worth a visit next time you are in the area.
